Research

My intersectional mixed methods research focuses on understanding how power, privilege and oppression operate to marginalize, exclude, and discriminate against groups and individuals through attitudes, policies, oppressive actions and isolation, focusing on health and educational disparities. Currently, my work centers on disability and ableism, and transgender/gender variant identities and transphobia, particularly in regards to health disparities. I am also interested in examining sexuality in marginalized communities, particularly LGBTQ individuals & people with disabilities.
